The Lies: Rudy Giuliani’s position on abortion is “close to the center of public opinion.“
Folks, the man is pro-abortion. None of my pro-choice friends would ever consider their position anywhere close to his.
Since we are on the topic, if you are going to sell yourself as the candidate of “choice”, you need to start being more pragmatic about it. Drop the frowny face about abortion and do what the Dems do – tell voters what a liberating and empowering thing it is for women. Remember how positive and cheerful Reagan was?
The Laughs: Chris Vance on conservatism and the conventional wisdom, “[t]he fact that conservative activists like Matt Manweller and Stefan are willing to support Guiliani illustrates that the conventional wisdom is wrong. Rudy is winning over some conservatives and he can win the nomination.”
Maybe that should have gone under “the lies” section.

“Non-statist” – now that’s a shade I hadn’t seen before. Funny how the most statist and pagan countries in the world have the most oppressive abortion laws — UK, Norway, Sweden, Russia. The free and Roman Catholic country of Poland has one of the most liberating for unborn children and women. Why do I get the feeling that Giuliani would make us more like Sweden than Poland?
