Re: “skinhead”
Mr. Satterberg:
Congratulations on being appointed by King County Republican Party Chairmen Michael Young and 1st Vice-Chair Lori Sotelo as the Republican Candidate for the office of King County Prosecutor. You must appreciate the benefit of support from the King County Republican Party hierarchy knowing Michael Young, Lori Sotelo and Ann Adams have a history of denying Party support to Republican candidates that are not the candidate of their choice.
I was impressed when you came out against partisan politics in the Prosecutor’s Office, at the same time your opponent is making partisan politics the center of his campaign you are keeping yours hidden.
And I was impressed when you went to the effort to return campaign contributions from Lori Sotelo so as to not appear partisan in not holding her responsible for her role in the Republican Party’s challenge of the residence status of registered voters. I sat directly behind Ms. Sotelo and Diane Tebelius at the Canvassing Board when Ms. Sotelo was challenging the residencies and to be fair to her, it was evident that Ms. Sotelo was being used as a stalking-horse by Michael Young and decisions on the disposition of challenges to the election, such as illegal ballots, were being made by others.
And I do appreciate the gesture in your attempt to appear non-partisan and your willingness to take a position outside that of Michael Young’s administration, knowing Michael Young has a history of interfering with Republican Party support of Republican candidates when he thinks they are a threat to his agenda.
But if you are interested in truly showing your ability to set aside partisan politics when it comes to your candidacy for King County Prosecutor, particularly when it comes to Michael Young and the King County Republican Party, I have a problem that you can help me with.
At the January 30, 2006, 37th District Republican Caucus, King County Republican Party Executive Director Ross Marzolf was accompanied by a ‘skinhead’ who followed me into the Caucus, stood on the other side of the room intently ‘observing’ me during the caucus, followed me anytime I moved about during the caucus (standing so close to me he had to step back when I turned around) and followed me out of the building.
I asked Mr. Marzolf the name of his ‘skinhead’ but he would only say his name was ‘Brian’.
At the April 20th, 2006 37th District Republican Caucus, I again asked Mr. Marzolf the name of the ‘skinhead’ who had followed and observed me at the Caucus. (Or, as one of Dave Reichert’s constituents put it to Mr. Reichert when he displayed indifference to the incident, “apparently stalking”) Mr. Thomas. Mr. Marzolf did not answer the question and I again asked “ What is your friend ‘Brian’s last name? ”. In response, Mr. Marzolf said “ He’s also a friend of Katy and Michael ” (Corl, 37th District Chair) then turned and walked away.
In a April 21, 2006 e-mail to Mr. Marzolf I asked him, “ for the third time, what is the full name of the guy with the shaved head, who evidently is a friend of Katy and Michael Corl (he of Davis Wright Tremaine), who you and/or the Corls brought in to the 37th District Caucus to follow me in, ‘watch’ me while I was at the caucus and to follow me out of the building. ”
Mr. Marzolf, in his position as KCGOP Executive Director, refused to respond.
In an April 25, 2006 e-mail to Diane Tebelius, then Chairman of the Washington State Republican Party, I asked her to intercede on my behalf in my request to Ross Marzolf to provide me with the full name of the individual who followed me at the January 30, 2006, 37th District Republican Caucus.
Ms. Tebelius failed to respond.
On May 03, 2006, I e-mailed Dave Reichert about his lack of response to my e-mail to Diane Tebelius, pointing out that one of his constituents has chastised him for his apparent lack of concern, particularly since having been the King
County Sheriff and running for office on that experience he should have had concern for the apparent “ stalking ” of a Republican PCO by someone retained by the Michael Young administration for that purpose.
Mr. Reichert did not respond to his constituent nor to me, evidently deciding there simply was no political benefit to getting involved.
On May 08, 2006, I e-mailed Rob McKenna, having copied Mr. McKenna both my e-mails to Diane Tebelius and Dave Reichert, and pointed out “ ….you have not expressed apparent concern or even interest though this represents an ongoing pattern of intimidation, threats of violence and actual violence by the Michael Young administration of the King County
Republican Party. ” and “ I do not think that simply ignoring these allegations is an appropriate response. ”.
Mr. McKenna failed to respond.
On May 11, 2007, I e-mailed Sam Reed, pointing out I had copied him my 04/25/06 e-mail to Diane Tebelius, my 05/03/06 e-mail to Dave Reichert and my 05/08/06 e-mail to Rob McKenna and reiterated “ ….you have not expressed apparent concern or even interest though this represents an ongoing pattern of intimidation, threats of violence and actual violence by the Michael Young administration of the King County Republican Party. ” and “ I do not think that simply ignoring these allegations is an appropriate response. ”
On May 12, 2006 I e-mailed Norm Maleng, both as a Republican and in his position of King County Prosecutor, pointing out that I had copied him on my e-mails to Ms. Tebelius, Mr. Reichert and Mr. McKenna and had not received any response.
Mr. Maleng did not acknowledge my correspondence, apparently determining there was no political benefit in getting involved.
Apparently the hierarchy of the King County Republican Party is comfortable with the knowledge that the Chairman of the King County Republican Party brought in a ‘skinhead’ to “stalk me” at a King County Republican Party Caucus in an apparent attempt to intimidate me, something that still gives me concern for my health and safety at King County Republican Party events. I have come to the conclusion the King County Republican Party hierarchy knows Michael Young’s ‘skinhead’, does not consider him to be a threat and, deciding there is no benefit in getting involved, do not have a problem with Michael Young using the tactics of intimidation against an elected Republican Precinct Committee Officer, considering it to be merely ‘party politics’.
But I do.
So, could you show your willingness to stand on your own, outside of Michael Young’s control of the King County Republican Party, and request Mr. Young provide you with the identify of his ‘skinhead’ and in turn provide me with that identity so that I can make my own decision if I should continue to be concerned for my health and safety when attending King County Republican Party events.
Your help on this issue would be very much appreciated.
Brian Thomas

Brian Thomas…? aren’t you the same guy who thinks the landing on the moon was staged, and believes you are being followed by government agents in black helicopters? Or this a different B.T.?
RBN…? Aren’t you the public nudist?
I’m sure Brian will be along, sooner or later, to address your question. In the meantime, where did you encounter the “Thomas” in your question?
Not a nudist, just appreciate those who are!
RBN
No. You are confusing the name with that of someone else, it is a common name, evidently someone you heard on the Art Bell show.
And you really shouldn’t believe everything you hear on that show.
Wearing that tin foil hat will not protect your brain from micro-waves emitting from Uranus.
That is actually funny!
“You help on this issue would be very much appreciated.”
You have a little grammar error there BT. Don’t want people thinking that Phil Spackman wrote this…
Scott, that kind of error is typographic, not grammatic, and probably a transcriptionist’s error.
Thanks for the heads, up, though.
I suppose Phil might thank you, as well, under the theory that “there’s no such thing as ‘bad press,’” and that you spelled his name right.
Scott Olson
” Don’t want people thinking that Phil Spackman wrote this… ” Don’t want ? ”
I understand. I can see that it would be difficult to type when you have your thumbs hooked under the bib on your overalls.
