From Jeff Coder:
Last night I attended a Republican 1st legislative district PCO meeting. We had a guest speaker named Jim Donner. Jim is 70 years old and has been involved in republican party politics for about 60 of his 70 years. He is a GOP activist and fundraiser. Over the years he has raised over $1,000,000.00 for candidates here in Snohomish county alone! What this really means is that Jim knows the political process inside and out and knows how the game is played. He has seen the good, the bad and the ugly in the whole political process. We had an open discussion about the problems the Republican Party is now facing and we also discussed how it seemed to have lost it’s way and abandoned it’s principles.
At this meeting we were also discussing what we need to do get the party back on track. The subject of illegal immigration came up and it was suggested that the republican party take a stronger stance on that issue. The question was asked “why is it that the government doesn’t follow it’s own laws in respect to the illegal immigration problem? Why is it that the government doesn’t aggressively seek out and deport illegal immigrants and impose heavy fines on their employers even though there are laws on the books to do just that?”
The answer will blow your mind. When Jim answered the question I was stunned to say the least. OK are you ready for this? The Social Security System is broke. It is no secret that the government has been propping it up with funny money for a long time. The baby boomers are now reaching retirement age which puts an even greater strain on the broken system. When an illegal immigrant gets a job here in the US he pays taxes including Social Security taxes. His employer also pays matching funds for that Social Security tax. The government realizes that the illegal immigrants who are paying social security taxes will never collect Social Security. From the government’s standpoint this is free money being pumped into the Social Security system that the government will never have to pay out.
And that, my friends, is why the government has no intention of solving the illegal immigration crisis that this country is experiencing. That is why it does not matter whether we have a Democrat or a Republican in the white house because neither party or president wants to solve the illegal immigration problem because anarchy would ensue when the social security system runs out of money and the elderly no longer get their checks. Or another model would be that the younger generation will have to pay increasingly higher taxes to maintain the social security system. That wouldn’t fly very long either! That is the fix we are in. Not very pretty is it?
Also, please follow this link to “Can the 2nd Amendment and Social Security Coexist?” Perhaps this is the underlying reason the government is afraid of firearms in the hands of private citizens. It’s a rather frightening scenario. This article was written back in 2002 by Aaron Zellman of JFPO (Jews For Preservation of Firearms Ownership). This article is probably more pertinent now with the election of Obama and the recent financial meltdown than it was when it was written back in 2002. Make no mistake about it, we are in for some very tough times ahead. What we are going through now is just a walk in the park compared to what is really in store for us.

Did you tell the speaker that, given the state of the GOP and the country today, his entire lifes work is an epic fail?
60 years wasted. Wow.
And I just wasted 3 days in Spokane. Does this make me better or worse?
But I have seen the “I wasted more years of my life than you and therefore I am more holier GOP than thou!” arguement before. Of course it’s not worded like that. They word it to make it seem like a good thing.
By the way, did Red Dog’s wife see that picture yet? He needs to send a few bucks my way to keep a lid on this.

King County will continue providing services to residents without regard to citizenship or immigration status, under an ordinance adopted Monday by a divided County Council.
The law, which prohibits sheriff’s deputies from asking about people’s immigration status in most circumstances, continues current practices of the Sheriff’s Office and Public Health — Seattle & King County, Gossett said. “The reason we wanted to codify it is in a few years there will be different members on the King County Council and a different executive.”
Craig Keller, of Respect Washington, which advocates local enforcement of immigration laws, told the council, “If you pass this ordinance, you’re throwing out a welcome mat to a greater population who are in the country illegally. … The larger problem is the increasing population of illegal aliens and political corruption that comes with them.”
