Toby Nixon Endorses Fred Jarrett to be King County Executive

Some politicians exit gracefully, and some put their foot into it one last time as they slide into obscurity. For some unknown reason, Toby Nixon chose the latter by endorsing political chameleon Fred Jarrett.

 

Jarrett is a confirmed lifelong Liberal Democrat. He says and does whatever it takes to pull the wool over the electorate’s eyes. He ran as a Republican, but only because the East Side was tilting Republican at the time and he stood a better chance at getting elected by running as a “R”.. He drew the line at being Republican when it came to having to rub shoulders with his 41^st District PCOs, however, and never showed up at a monthly meeting unless there was something in it for him. With gritted teeth, he endured mingling with the party faithful for as little time as possible before bolting the meeting. Fred had a little secret.

 

The dirty little secret Fred neglected to share, was that he wasn’t really a Republican, and never had been. No wonder he avoided the monthly Republican district  meetings. Even when warned of Jarrett’s many “wrong” votes, District Chairman Ann Adams faithfully twisted arms for him, as she admonished the worker bees to “Be nice, and remember, we have to support Fred, even if we don’t always agree with him.”

 

For those wise to Jarrett’s Left Wing voting tendencies, Fred didn’t follow Ann’s “be nice” admonitions. When one PCO forwarded to Fred Evergreen Freedom Foundation’s warning that Jarrett was 180 degrees off course on some issue, he wrote back saying that EFF was an organization of know-nothing nuts, and the PCO was stupid for following them.

 

Jarrett had one belief that motivated him throughout his political career. Fred thought he was smarter than everybody else. He believed in his heart of hearts that he was chosen to be a leader of men. He announced so to his fellow legislators, and spoke of his goal to rise to one day be governor. He had plenty of money, and his Public Disclosure Contribution Reports read like a Who’s Who of Greedy Lobbyists. Everybody wanted to be on Fred’s good side, because they all knew that payday was just around the corner. Democrats need not have bothered to contribute so lavishly, because Fred was always one of them anyway. Look at even his old PDC Reports. Even then the Democrats knew they were putting money into one of their own. He only fooled the naïve Republicans.

 

Then finally he decided to come clean and fess up. Now as we see, even admitting he really is a Democrat hasn’t dissuaded the other chameleons in the Republican party from supporting Fred and his Liberal Ways.  Old faithful Toby, and Steve Litzow, Ann Adams, Lori Sotelo and a handful of others still can say no evil about their turncoat hero.

 

Meanwhile Fred has found another public trough to wallow in temporarily (King County Executive) on his way to the governorship. If only the peasants will elect him. After all, he’s smart, and we’re dumb, and Fred knows best. Forget the party labels. Feed Fred’s insatiable ego and vote for Fred. It’s the Republican thing to do. Ask Toby Nixon.
