When a soldier comes home, he finds it hard…
“If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”

Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious
to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.
George Washington
God bless them one and all.
May the Universal Powers that be…Keep them safe when abroad, bring them home safely, turn aside the hostile in home territory…And give them the peace of a good night sleep without nightmares…
Never forget. That they volunteered.
Wow…woinfv….way to support the service members that protect your freedom, and your right to be so heartless and arrogant.
My husband has your back, nice to see you don’t have theirs.
This is beautifully done <3 Thank you!
And may Lord God help them realize that they have been brainwashed into becoming state-sanctioned psychopathic murderers, who perform the bidding of the ruling class, and that none of their missions have anything to do with preserving freedom in our country. I truly pity them all.
The soldiers no longer die to protect our freedom, although most of them think they do, which is why they fight so well. They fight for our government’s ideals, and they’ve been doing so since world war 2.
I’m not saying that what they’re doing is anything short of miraculous, I’m just saying that the people who they’re getting their information from are misleading them on purpose, and that the war the soldiers fight is for the corporations who run america, and not for the people.
Protecting freedom is not invading nations for made up reasons and killing 100,000 civilians, thats called a genocide.
Never forget that they volunteered, to walk where normal people fear to tread.
Never forget that they volunteered, to stand between the chaos and you.
Never forget that they volunteered, to protect the people of the United States from all enemies.
Never forget that they volunteered, because they actually care what happens to people they don’t know and that they know don’t like them.
Strat, very good quote, but would you want to live in a free country that did not have a standing army to defend it?
@ArmyWifey
I think you may have misunderstood what he was saying. Signing up for it, volunteering, is very heroic.
No, I don’t believe that I misunderstood.
My heart breaks for every single one of you who have replied to this grossly.
Our soldiesr are in Afghanistan right now, for example, not killing innocent people. They are helping to PROTECT the civilians there, the elders, the children…it’s the taliban…the enemy that is killing innocent people. We are working with ANA to protect their country.
They are protecting our own nation and our own people against attacks. That warm bed that you sleep in every night, your freedom that you enjoy, the right to speak your mind, you can thank a SOLDIER for that ;-)
I can not believe what I’ve just read. To those of you who responded with your idiotic, unpatriotic ideals….I am a proud Army Wife to a soldier who is in Afghanistan for the next year of his 5 mth old daughter’s life fighting for YOU so that YOU have the freedom to sit in front of your computer and type that garbage. Genocide!!!! You are a fool. YOU people have really got some nerve to sit here and question the intentions of what our troops do. I want to slap each and every one of you in the FACE! They do what is necessary to provide freedom for our country….and if you don’t like it….then go live in that country!!!! And when you do, I hope it’s your head that they’re aiming for!!!!!!
Fools….STUPID fools.
AMAZING PICS! And to all of those who think a soldier is not fighting for something, you should just be lucky there isnt a draft because I doubt you could even go through the hard training with so little faith!
And they ARE fighting for our freedom….and if they stop and if the Mujihaddin or Taliban doesn’t kill you or your family if there is another attack on American soil.
It is not the citizens fault that war has broken out, he are helping them by saving lives. These extremest groups torture and kill for no reason and we, like many other countries, have soldiers over there fighting to stop the terrorist from gaining large in those countries and from traveling to our own counties!
Try to learn something before you type out your ignorance but I am happy that you don’t have to feel the pain of knowing the one you love with all your heart is fighting constantly in harms way to protect those who agree and who do not agree! They are helping all of man kind by doing this and everyone gets so side tracked on what the government is doing. What about the government who cannot take over their country because it is being blown up by groups of extremists????
Mike-
WOW, HOW do you think that the history of Afghanistan is made up and the country was happy go lucky and did not have citizens scared to death to leave their homes before soldiers came to help stop these groups that are destroying everyone who does not believe women should be under a Burqa or men that don’t pray like a muslim.
American invasion of Afghanistan is just an attempt to clear the mess from the past where they supported these organisations like mujahedeens and taliban, and it backfired a lil’ bit I think. The Soviets were the same, they supported socialist government after overthrowing monarchy. There is no good or bad in politics or war. As for soldiers – it is their job to obey the commands, but they are paid for it. It is job for propaganda to make it seem like ‘good’ thing.
Right now being in the Military might not be the most patriot thing considering who our current Commander in Chief is.
What if Obama sends our military down to Honduras on behalf of that former President down there who wanted to become a dictator?
And besides, we need good people in America, not over in some foreign lands getting killed. We can’t afford to lose them.
I am also a wife of an Army soldier. Anonymous, Chris, Mike – have you ever been in the military? Were your fathers, your wives, your children? Until you, your wives, or your children have served please don’t talk to me about your socialist views.
Yes, my husband volunteered to join knowing he would be deployed. I stand behind his decision to do so. Does that make being separated for a year or more any easier? No. Does it make knowing my husband has been shot at by snipers every day for 57 days any easier? No. Does it make listening to my 9 year old cry himself to sleep because he is scared for his dad any easier? No.
My husband and soldiers like him are fighting to protect the Afghan and Iraqi people from those who would oppress them. My husband sees these people everyday, he sees how scared they are, how hard things are on them. These people just want what most humans do – the right to be safe, the right to clean water, shelter, food – things we as Americans take for granted. I for one am proud of my husband and those like him who are fighting for these people.
I don’t expect you to change what you believe but I do ask that you be respectful of those who put their lives on the line so you can sit in safety badmouthing them. It is the least you can do in return for what they are doing for you!
For those of us who love a soldier – ignore the ignorance here! Remember that only WE know what it is like to deal with the long absences, how overwhelming preparing for deployment is, becoming a “single parent” overnight, the days and weeks with no contact, the empty bed every night, etc.
For those of you who spoke ill words, you spoke it in ENGLISH, thank a soldier, you go to work every day without problems, you have a bank account, you eat 3 or more meals per day, you have health care, you have the freedom to spread the trash you do, you have the freedom to believe in God the Almighty or not, etc. Thank OUR HUSBANDS for your freedoms you morons!
You say we (by we I mean soldiers and their families) are ill informed, stop reading the effing headlines, stop watching the Communist News Network (CNN) and take the damn time to EDUCATE yourself! We know more than we are allowed to share, and what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan does ULTIMATELY defend OUR NATION’S FREEDOM! To compare my husband (or ArmyWifey’s, Armyanglbby’s and other’s) to murders is INSANE! Come on, strap on some boots and ACU’s join the Army and stand IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND PLEASE!!!! My husband fights so yours can sleep at night!
“You’re welcome and it is our honor” – from our troops!
For the people who site Idly by and are FREE to speak their pathetic “opinion”, HAVE YOU BEEN TO IRAQ? HAVE YOU BEEN TO AFGHANISTAN?! Im guessing you probably have not, so your opinion is obviously based off of poor education, and “conspiracy” ideals. Until you physically have been to these places, or have played an active role in the war or terrorism you have no right, and no valid opinion. Its very sad that you can sit there and judge something you DO NOT understand. You have no idea the depth of pride that oozes from each of these women, these army wives that have posted on here. The women that sit and pray every night that their husbands come home safely. I am one of them and you have angered and offended me deeply. I pray that you never have to go through the pain that our families go through day to day…each missed birth of a child, missed first birthday, another missed christmas. They don’t do it because the “corporations” control america….they do it because good people need to be protected…they do it because they know what it means to have dignity and patriotic duty. They do it because even someone as wrong as you needs someone to fight for them.
you should be ashamed of yourself.
The soldiers in Iraq, in Afghanistan, are heroes in my book.
I am awed by them.
However, I am tired of “our side” burdening with the brunt of such efforts. We just can’t afford it anymore. Do I expect liberals to join up and defend our country? Of course not. But I do feel that the “battles” at home are far more important than risking and giving our lives overseas.
The soldiers who die overseas would have otherwise been here at home, raising strong principled children, becoming leaders in their churches, in their community. There are so, so few people like that these days that to lose even a few, regardless of how important the cause might be, are a few we can’t at this point afford to lose. Of course you never want to lose good people but at this point of our history with so few good people left it becomes a crisis.
Nailo above said in response to some very cruel comments by some Leftist vermin who have responded here “They do it because even someone as wrong as you needs someone to fight for them..
No, by fighting for them it releases them from any consequence of their wrong attitudes and behavior (and no they don’t have any shame). And at the same time it weakens us by having our “forces” (citizens who would otherwise be “fighting” against them at home [not real fighting but participating in efforts against them]) spent elsewhere.
It is time for us conservatives to really hunker down, batten down the hatches, and all of that. We are spending so much effort in propping up something that might need to fall down.
I admit, as much as I feel myself a patriot I can’t myself imagine to understand why people would make such a sacrifice as they do to join the military. That gives me an even greater respect for them.
But, at the same time we must ask are we a country that currently deserves people of such high caliber making such a sacrifice? And I am afraid the answer is right now, NO!
Also, we are living in the age of the unthinkable. Iraq and Afghanistan are noble efforts and anyone who says otherwise is an evil person in my book. Although I guess an argument can be made about was Bush letting war profiteering get in the way of the mission. Should they STILL be here after all that time is an legitimate question, though the comments of Mike and aenri should be removed (or perhaps they do serve a purpose in letting us know such evil people are out there).
But what of Honduras if Obama orders troops in to re-instate that Zelaya? How am I supposed to feel about the husbands of the posters above then. As someone who has always considered herself a supporter of the military this will put me in a difficult place indeed. I was almost placed there in the 1990s with the whole Bosnia thing but there at least it was a situation where I felt that both sides were bad. Here there is a good side and a bad side and America has chosen to be on the bad side there.
You should read some of the accounts coming from there.

I grew up loving my military and to think that I might be forced to hate them is unthinkable. But this is the age of the unthinkable.
Last night driving home I caught someone talking about if this Swine Flu epidemic gets worse, they might call out the national guard or even the general military. How will I how should I feel as an American if there are forced immunizations?
When the Commander in Chief is Barack Hussian Obama it means that there is a high possibility that some very good people might be asked to do some very bad things. How am I supposed to feel about that? As someone who has always believed in American ideals, how should I respond?
This is the reason why I would ask anyone thinking about joining the military at this point of time to think again. For two reasons. First we need you more at home raising your children and working politically to change our country back into one that deserves such a sacrifice. And second you have no idea what Mr. Obama is going to ask you to do.

That’s why it ANGERS me whenever I turn on Sean Hannity and everyone there is calling each other a great American.
I love America. But I know I am NOT a great American. I do not deserve to be called that.
The soldiers in Iraq, the soldiers in Afghanistan they are great Americans.
But still, it does make one wonder if it would be much better for these great Americans to be home instead of getting “thrown under the bus” by Obama in foreign lands.
And it makes one wonder what would these Great Americans do if they are ordered by their commander in chief to force a dictator upon Latin American or to force Americans to have vaccines put in their children that they might not feel is safe for them.
By the way, there’s a program (sci fic) from Britain about what happens when the military turns against the British people called “Torchwood: Children of the Earth”. Even those who have never seen the BBC series “Torchwood” should watch this program as it brings up a lot of interesting questions about what happens when the state attacks its citizens. There are some stuff in it that conservatives aren’t going to like (a gay kiss) but beyond that watching the show really made me understand why at least in our country there’s a 2nd Amendment.
If you have Cable it should be on Demand via BBC America. And even if you have never watched the sci fic series you can still come at it as a new viewer and understand 90 percent of what’s going on in the show.
IF YOU DON’T STAND BEHIND OUR TROOPS,
PLEASE, FEEL FREE TO
STAND IN FRONT OF THEM!
here’s a site were you can send a Thank you to our American troops . It’s free and only takes a moment of your time.

I stand behind our troops!
But I fear the day someone like Obama might put them in front of me.
I don’t like thinking that this could happen. I want to always in a position to support them.
But we are living in the age of the unthinkable.

What if Obama makes that impossible?

More than half of children taking the swine flu drug Tamiflu experience side-effects such as nausea and nightmares, research suggests.
An estimated 150,000 people with flu symptoms were prescribed the drug through a new hotline and website last week, according to figures revealed yesterday.
Studies of children attending three schools in London and one in the South West showed that 51-53 per cent had one or more side-effects from the medication, which is offered to everyone in England with swine flu symptoms.

What does this have to do with the topic we are discussing here? Well, here is a reason why some parents might not want to immunize their children. So will we see the National Guard force it upon the parents? Or perhaps our regular military?
Things could get real ugly real fast here.
Oh, in other news….
http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/story/829272.html
Oh, and please check out “Torchwood: Children of Earth”.
I think for all of you who think our brave fighting forces are murdering innocent people, why dont you take advantage of your FREEDOM and go live where our men and women are fighting. Then you can run your ignorant mouths as much as you want and see what happens. You would be begging for someone to protect you.
Stop and count your blessings that you have the LIBERTY to type your opinions on here without regard for the people who are actually touched by this war every day. As the grandaughter, friend, sibling, cousin and soon to be wife of military, I couldn’t be prouder of what my family, as well as the other amazing military families out there, have accomplished. I would be willing to bet that YOU too have been touched by war. Someone you love/know/used to know is, or has been, in the military at some point.
Get off your pedestal, find a soldier, and THANK THEM… They deserve it.
Sara, I am fully in support of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and I thank them every time I meet one of them. We definitely need them there and since we need them there we need to give them flexibility when it comes to them “doing what it takes” to keep them safe. I am not under any illusions about what we did to the Japanese in the Pacific. That’s war and war is cruel. War can’t be refined.
But, now admittedly I am looking ahead now, what do I do when they start killing Hondurans? Am I supposed to “thank them” for that?
http://pamroachreport.blogspot.com
Or, even American parents who don’t want their children experimented on with risky vaccines.
I realize that I sleep soundly at night due to the fact that there are rough men out there inflicting violence upon those who would do me harm. But what happens when those who would do me harm are in my own government.
Not a pleasant thought I know but that is where we are headed and we need to get our heads into that mindset.
But again, as for Iraq and Afghanistan while it has cost me a couple of friends (conservatives as I have no liberal friends) I have always supported the troops there. We do have external enemies and we need to defeat those enemies. And in doing so we shouldn’t tie the hands of our soldiers as BOTH BUSH and now no doubt Obama has done.
But I also realize that it is a two edged sword. And since we are now facing three more years of Obama (at least I think the Republicans are going to run Romney who will lose as I know I am not alone in saying I will under no circumstance vote for for him so I fear we are really facing 7 years of this Obama) I feel I need to at least bring this up.
Armyanglbby you said “My husband and soldiers like him are fighting to protect the Afghan and Iraqi people from those who would oppress them. ”
If that is the reason your husband is fighting then he should be sent back home to you IMMEDIATELY.
Call me unsympathetic, but I see it as being realistic. People are being oppressed all over the world. If “foreign people being oppressed” is the only reason for deployment then why only Afghanistan and Iraq?
Obviously our national interests MUST BE AT STAKE to justify keeping him away from you and risking his life. I don’t EVER want to sugarcoat the military. A military exists to kill people and break things. Sounds cruel, yes, but indeed sometimes its necessary.
Too many people tend to want to mistake Soldiers as being police. And while there are some similarities SOLDIERS are NOT COPS!
And because of that I am willing to give soldiers far more latitude than I would cops. I don’t believe in restrictive rules of engagement. I believe that soldiers should be able to do practically anything to complete their mission and come home safety. I don’t think that will mean that soldiers will go out and kill women and children for fun. I respect these men enough to know they aren’t murderers. Yes, there is a difference between “killing” and “murdering”. Soldiers should be free to kill. It is a war zone.
The Leftist here who posted that they are committing genocide is evil. Of course they aren’t. The problem is the exact Opposite. They are too afraid to “do what it takes”.
War is cruel. War MUST BE cruel. War can not be refined.
If our national interests are at stake then they should be there otherwise they shouldn’t be. The plight of the Afghan or the Iraqi people can not have an effect on that decision one way or the other.
Because in truth, the lives of a thousand Afghans or Iraqis, aren’t worth your husband being away from you, much less risking his life. So, it needs to be about something much more than protecting Iraqis and Afghans. And I believe it is so I support it.
But I am sick of people trying to turn the military into something it shouldn’t be. The military is about killing foreigners and breaking their things because we believe they pose a threat. Now I realize sometimes our military can be used on so called “humanitarian” missions but that should be the exception, not the rule and certainly not the focus.
By the way, although I don’t want to sugarcoat the military, I don’t condemn it. I understand that at times its a necessary evil. And I don’t consider soldiers by an large “bad people”. They are good people doing what is necessary. Killing doesn’t necessarily makes one a bad person. In Okinawa OUR troops would capture Japanese (when they could because the Japs would kill themselves before being allowed to be captured alive) and since they had no means of detaining them after they interrogated them they would shoot them in the head. But that didn’t make these people “bad people”. It made them people willing to do what it took in the unique situation of war. They then went home to live very decent productive lives. There is a distinction that needs to be made regarding “things down in the battleground” compared to things done in everyday life. Yes, good people can and MUST do things on the battlefield that in everyday life would most deservedly define him as evil. But the point is that they wouldn’t do such things in everyday life, and that’s the important difference.
And for us, those who don’t serve, we don’t have the right to condemn what is done in the battlefield on our behalf. Only those who have “been there” have that right.
they volunteered
the next time you open your eyes in the morning and you are not afraid that you are going to be bombed shot killed for your beliefs or just being thank a soldier and don’t forget to thank a VET
Ben, you are right they did volunteer, and Thank God for that…..
Thank You to all the soldiers and their families who sacrifice to keep our nation free.
the next time you let your alligator mouth overload your canary a** and don’t get shot or tortured get your tongue cut out or your child or family isn’t killed you damn well better thank the next vet you see, as the daughter sister and aunt of a soldier I thank God and them every time I see one
