Remember the Precinct caucuses will be the next weekend (Feb 13) at 9 AM. (really 10 AM but arrive early for registration). It would be great if some tea party rallies could be at the locations that the precinct caucuses are being held.
That will be the way that the Republican party will be taken back.
Don’t forget to bring your video camera to this event.
Therefore people who can’t attend it for whatever reason can still see what went on.
Unless there’s some reason you don’t think it should be videoed.
Candidate forums should ALWAYS be videoed. If a candidate isn’t willing to make a promise on camera don’t expect that candidate to fulfill that promise when they are actually in office and has the press full attention.
I have heard of several candidate forums having taken place this year yet, when I look for the video I can’t find any. Again, the camera is the perfect tool to keep these political people somewhat in check. I have seen incidences where a politician would say one thing to one group of likeminded people but then go to an opposite group and say the exact opposite in order to tell them what they want to hear.
But in this case, videoing the event would just be so people who weren’t there could get the information. But in this case if you don’t think it should be videoed I would leave it to your discretion.
But for all of you who have held candidate forums (especially US Senate) come on film them already! Not everyone can go to every forum and if they start changing their tune a bit we need to record that. Remember if they aren’t willing to say something on camera, regardless of what they might say in whispers, when the real pressure is on them as it gets to be in Olympia (or DC or wherever) they will not vote your way.
SO GET IT ON CAMERA. Now that will still not stop them from betraying you when they get in office but it will do two things. It will make them more careful and hesitant to just “play to the audience” which will make it more likely to see at least how strongly they feel about an issue. And when they do betray the campaign promises at least you can put a video up saying this is what the politician said in campaign mode and now this is what the politician is doing now elected in betrayal of the politician’s campaign promises.
It should almost be a joke. Here comes those tea partiers with their cameras. They are just like Japanese tourists.
Remember while the revolution will not be televised it will be on youtube. Start filming your rallies. Start filming your politicians in these forums. A camera will be a critical tool in our fight ahead.
Here’s a few video cameras coming out in March. Too late for the Precinct Caucuses (which of course people should bring a camera to) but perhaps not too late for the County convention and absolutely not to late for the state convention.
But you might want to get a camera before then. Now it doesn’t have to be a camcorder as most all digital cameras these days have a movie mode. When you buy a camera though be sure to check out sound quality and how far away you can video and still pick up the sound.
Okay, after reading about this event you wouldn’t want to video THIS EVENT. But most all of the others you would want to.
And ABSOLUTELY VIDEO CANDIDATE FORUMS!
There’s NO EXCUSE for not doing that. And if a candidate won’t attend because that candidate doesn’t want to be videoed well that tells you something about the candidate doesn’t it!
I am pretty disappointed that the US Senate forums that I keep hearing about aren’t up on youtube or any other video distribution web site. That really upsets me.
All Candidate Forums should be videoed. That should be one of the missions of the tea party movement.
And at the precinct caucuses no doubt there will be candidates for public office there who will be allowed to speak. They should be filmed as well.
And when candidates speak at rallies that should be filmed.
If a candidate has a problem with that, well that tells you a lot about the candidate. It says that the candidate doesn’t want to be held accountable for the words they speak at this particular venue. It says that all they are doing is “ear tickling” with no expectation of following through if they were to be elected.
Now when you get to the county and state conventions yeah, you are going to want to video the politicians to hold them on record for their words but an even more important purpose is to catch all the shenanigans that the Mainstream Republicans of Washington State are bound to pull.
Can only the “chosen” read this?
Affirmative all systems go
Michelle,
It is given unto you to know the mysteries of the movement of liberty, but to them it is not given.
For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
Therefore speak I to them who are not chosen imperceptibly: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
“IF YOU SHOW UP FOR A FAIR FIGHT, YOU ARE NOT PREPARED”
It was not a fair fight before.

Here is a good page talking about the Precinct Caucus.

Matt Shea’s Donor list.

There are no red flags on Matt Shea’s PDC’s. At least none I can see by quickly looking though it.
I haven’t had time to go through his voting record.
Never take what these politicians say on trust.
Or as Reagan used to say Trust but Verify.
Tea Party Nation held its first national convention. Angela McGlowan and Joseph Farah spoke about Tea Party movement issues.

Peter Wolf, Warren, and Kimberly Fletcher talked about practices for precinct organizing.
