The following article was originally published in November, 2006. It is composed entirely of published news reports at that time about PLAZA BANK and its profitable connections with Illegal Immigration and the Marxist movement. It has become crucially pertinent again now that one of its FOUNDERS, Pedro Celis, is running for Congress… as a Republican (!!!). Anyone with a direct connection to the activities described in this article disqualifies himself from standing for election to represent law-abiding Republicans.
One of (King County GOP Vice Chair) Lori Sotelo’s numerous business interests works with a Marxist-based organization to facilitate loans to illegal aliens according to information published in the Seattle Times. The biggest problem for illegals in securing loans is that any wages they have are obtained through fraud.
You perhaps already know that Lori Sotelo, Vice Chair of the King County Republican Party, second half of the Young/Sotelo administration, and political partner of State Chair Diane Tebelius is (as we previously have documented here on the Reagan Wing) an advocate of amnesty for illegal aliens. You could have learned it by simply attending the Washington State Republican Convention this year and hearing her contend for the principle during Platform debate.
We previously published the fact that Lori and her husband, Mike, are founding investors in, among other things, “Hispanic Community” oriented Plaza Bank, and that Mike is, perhaps, the leading advocate of Open Borders and Amnesty for Illegal Aliens in Washington State. He is also a Board Director of that same Plaza Bank. Last Thursday, Nov. 16, the Seattle Times fingered Plaza Bank as originating home loans for illegal aliens in collusion with El Centro de la Raza. Sotelo’s Federally insured Plaza Bank makes major loans to illegal aliens without legal income verification, helps them send (apparently untraceable) money to Mexico and El Centro De La Raza acts as the recruiter, with its extensive contacts in the Marxist Illegal Alien movement.
El Centro de la Raza (translated: “The Center of the Race“) has been, since its inception, a project for Cultural Marxism, working to achieve both socialism and race-based preferences for Hispanics. The group, an integral part of the revolutionary anti-American movement of the late ’60s and ’70s was economically established in 1972 by forcefully and illegally seizing Beacon Hill (Public) School, occupying it, and daring the police to fight a battle to remove them. They later occupied Seattle City Council Chambers and were finally arrested, but Seattle’s Liberal Democrat Mayor Wes Uhlman (Later, a member of Dino Rossi’s Transition Team) caved in and La Raza was given a lease of the building for ONE DOLLAR A YEAR. (Crime does seem to pay for Hispanic radicals). Their primary founder, Roberto Maestas, one of the Marxist guiding lights of Democrat Seattle, was, and is, a follower of the terrorist Revolutionary Che Guevara (1928-1967) and a supporter of the Nicaraguan Communist murderer/torturer dictator Daniel Ortega.
Mortgages for illegal immigrants getting more common“…it’s what he didn’t have that worried him the most: A legitimate Social Security number; A credit file.; Legal immigration status…””The illegal-immigrant buyer from Federal Way, who asked that his name not be used because of the stigma associated with illegal immigration…”“I was very honest with my Realtor from the start,” he said. “I told him I didn’t have a Social Security number and that I was undocumented. He said it wouldn’t be a problem … .”“In Seattle, El Centro de la Raza operates what appears to be the only community-based program in the state for these kinds of loans…”“In Seattle, El Centro de la Raza, which mainly serves Seattle-area Latinos, has worked with two small local lenders, Plaza Bank and Liberty Financial, to help illegal immigrants obtain mortgages.”“There’s huge demand for these kinds of loans,” said Jean Withers, Northwest regional director at Acorn Housing, a Chicago-based community organization that operates a program to help low- to moderate-income and illegal-immigrant households buy homes. Acorn doesn’t offer such mortgages for illegal immigrants in Washington because its partner lender in the program, Citibank, has no presence here, Withers said.”…the interest rates on Acorn loans are at or below market rate.” [Ed. note: links below to Acorn Housing articles return errors because in 2012 Acorn Housing disappeared.]
Area real-estate agents say that while the demand for home ownership among illegal immigrants in this region is strong, it’s going largely unfulfilled. That’s in part because many would-be borrowers have Social Security numbers that aren’t legitimate, raising a red flag as soon as they try to use it to apply for a loan.Roberto Molina, a real-estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Federal Way, said he receives calls regularly from immigrants with questionable Social Security numbers asking if they can buy a house. As their numbers grow here, Hispanics become big business [For Plaza Bank]“Last year, an estimated $36 billion was sent to Latin America by immigrants to the U.S., according to the Inter-American Development Bank.” [That's money that does not get re-invested in America, but enriches the corrupt Mexican aristocracy]
Sotelo and Plaza Bank
Acorn Housing (an arm of ACORN which has been so instrumental in defrauding our citizenship through their illegal voter registration activities. READ: one reason why Republicans are now out of power!) is also engaged in this same racket. Here’s recent local coverage of what ACORN has been up to in Pierce Co.: Seattle Times, Saturday, November 04, 2006 Election 2006
County will not be sued over refusal to register 1,100 voters
By Keith Ervin
Seattle Times staff reporter
King County election officials won’t be sued over their refusal to register about 1,100 would-be voters for Tuesday’s election.County officials have said the voters were ineligible because registration forms were delivered by a private package carrier after the Oct. 7 deadline.Michael Slater, director of Project Vote’s election administration program, had threatened a lawsuit if county officials didn’t reverse their decision on the registration forms, which were picked up by UPS Oct. 6 and delivered to the county Oct. 9. State law allows local election offices to accept registrations after the deadline if they have a “postal cancellation” date before the deadline. After consulting with lawyers, Slater said Thursday that King County was correct in interpreting the law to mean it could accept mailed registrations after the deadline only if they were postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service.Washington ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) collected the registration cards as part of a Project Vote-funded drive to sign up minority and low-income voters in Pierce County. The King County residents, if otherwise eligible, will be added to the voter rolls after the Tuesday election so they can vote in future elections, an elections spokeswoman said.
Wall Street Journal writes about ACORN’s fraud on a national level And our Federal government is essentially endorsing this lawlessness by chartering the Plaza Bank and assisting organizations like ACORN who prosper through fraudulent SSN use. Can someone say RICO? The last clipping below reports on the federal approval for Plaza Bank raising capital. Plaza Bank deposits are insured by the FDIC. I don’t yet know which federal agency approved its charter. From ACORN Housing’s website another example of how our federal government is abetting this activity: http://acornhousing.org/TEXT/faq.phpACORN Housing FAQQ. Is ACORN Housing a Government Agency?
A. No, we’re a non-profit organization that was established to help low-to-moderate-income people become and remain homeowners. But our Housing Counselors are trained and certified by the US dept. of Housing and Urban Development. http://acornhousing.org/TEXT/intakeitems.htmlACORN HOUSING INTAKE FORM

Primary Borrower Signature Date And the linkage between the larger ACORN group and ACORN Housing: http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=2652 And then the link to ACORN’s tax return preparation centers where they push TAX CREDITs that give federal dollars to those even without income. Now you know why Democrats lobby for tax give-aways to those who don’t actually have taxable income. And why Pres. Bush is so adamant to give tax cuts only to those would have had a tax bill to pay without the cut!:
http://www.acorn.org/index.php?id=8144It is a web of deceit that Plaza Bank is patterning itself after. OUR Federal government is looking the other way, but that doesn’t mean the activities are moral or that our public purse is not being picked. This amorality fits well with those who refuse to defend our borders and who are thereby selling out The United States of America for a buck.Anyone with a direct connection to this activity disqualifies himself from standing for election to represent law-abiding Republicans. That includes Ms. Sotelo
