The October 17 cover of the Stranger, King County’s leading satanic publication, pictures Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna laughing. Superimposed over the photo are giant letters spelling out the question, “WHY IS THIS MAN LAUGHING?” and the Stranger’s answer: “Because he thinks you‘re stupid enough to vote for him.”
Inside, the supporting article is co-authored by the twin Stranger political avatars: Dan Savage, the Svengali of Sexual Perversion and David “Goldy” Goldstein, the maven of Marxist economics. Like virtually everything we read at the Stranger, almost every word in the article is a lie.

Ron Bemis is the challenger to long-time 7th District Stalinist Democrat Jim McDermott. McDermott has consistently refused to debate Bemis and the reason is very, very clear. It might tend to give the voters a choice. McDermott made the mistake of appearing side by side with Bemis in October on KUOW and Bemis – how should I put this? – Bemis broke McDermott into little pieces intellectually and then ground the pieces into a fine powder. [You can hear it (and the extraordinary KUOW left wing bias) here.] No problem in Soviet King County, however.
There is a controlled press.
The Seattle Times has literally refused to cover the Bemis candidacy (!!!). They couldn’t let word get out about a candidate that brilliant. To counteract the Times’ bias against him (they are, after all, just another wing of the Democrat Party), the Bemis campaign purchased a quarter page ad in the Times Sunday October 28 edition. [Why shouldn't the local propaganda rag profit from its own misdeeds? (and thanks, McCain-Feingold)]

And why should our anointed Congressman-for-life, while taking advantage of franking privileges and the prerogatives of media-bequeathed eternal incumbency, have to give up the limelight of a debate just because he (technically) has an opponent for the office? What to do?

On Thursday, November 1, 2012 the Freedom Foundation [formerly the Evergreen Freedom Foundation], through its offspring, the Student Freedom Project (SFP) will host a McDermott “Debate.”
But to Save Dr. McDermott* the indignity of having to face his opponent, Ron Bemis will not be invited.
*(Dr.? Yes, Martha, he’s a psychiatrist – just look at that picture).

At the August state committee meeting in Pasco, a mere handful of “Republicans,” without input from, or notice to, the grassroots Party members they are supposed to represent, “nominated” candidates for statewide office.
Why?
What difference does it make?

The radical swing to the left represented by former wsrp chair Luke Esser’s new job as an SEIU lobbyist is also the visible migration of Rob McKenna. As the Seattle Times says, “he works seamlessly with state Attorney General Rob McKenna.” It means McKenna understands, as Dino Rossi did not, that when you abandon your base you need to make real, practical moves to replace them on the left. Say what you want, SEIU can get people elected.

According to the KCGOP PDC reports, the State Senate Caucus passed through the KCGOP $115,000.00. You gave the money to four Republican State Senate Candidates who had never been elected before including $33,000.00 to Steve Litzow in the 41st District.

Steve Litzow was endorsed by, and sits on the board of, the Washington State National Abortion Rights Action League Political Action Committee. As you well know, NARAL is radically fanatic about abortion on demand, anywhere, anytime, anyplace, taxpayer funding, no parental notification, on and on ad nauseum. They go against everything we stand for as Republicans.

Why do some candidates feel the need to hide what they really believe? Why do some candidates distance themselves from conservatives? I think in part the answer lies in this comment made on Facebook a couple of weeks ago by Erin Aboudara. “Where is the evidence that independent voters, who make up the majority of the electorate in this state, are just itching to vote for Clint Didier or any other conservative candidates.”
My response would be this: where is the evidence that independent voters, who make up the majority of the electorate in this state,are just itching to support moderate to liberal-leaning republican candidates? (more…)

For the last few days Clint Didier has had his team around him working to find a way Dino Rossi can win the US Senate race over leftist Democrat Patty Murray.
Unusual. I know.

News yesterday before the polls closed: more than twelve hundred people in Snohomish County and in different numbers in pockets around the State had never received ballots; Some had received ballot envelopes without contents.
As disturbing as the breakdowns in the mail-in system were, the ease of the fixes was worse: “Just log in to the email ballot program. Print your own ballot!” (more…)

You’ve all heard people say it and you might believe it yourself. “I like Clint Didier, but I have to vote for Dino Rossi, because he is the only one who can beat Patty Murray.” Really?
With stubborn wrongheadedness, mainstream Republicans cling steadfastly to the belief that only the moderate, not really conservative candidate can win, even though it has proven to be a faulty strategy. The same thing, after all, was said about McCain. On blog after blog, on the radio and on Facebook they keep insisting that Rossi is the only one who can win, as if by chanting it in recitation together their cosmic mantra will somehow make it so.
Rossi made the list of Crew’s Crooked Candidates. Granted, this site is run by admitted progressives, but they do list the reasons for his inclusion and they are troubling. Guilt by association with criminals might not be sufficient to convict him in a court of law, but perceptions by voters DO influence elections. If you look at the left’s websites, they have plenty of dirt ready to sling at Rossi. Wouldn’t it be great to have a candidate who is not so tainted?
Rossi’s appearing at a sales event promoting making money off of foreclosures after declaring his candidacy might not be illegal, but it was certainly tasteless given the suffering of so many in this economic downturn. It plays seamlessly into the “sleazy real estate dealings” accusation.
Jumping in at the last minute and not running a real campaign or engaging the other candidates might be perceived as a clever political strategy. In fact I have seen his hiding out referred to as “expert political gamesmanship” and “he only loses if he engages the other candidates in the primary, so why should he do that?”
Only thing is, ducking and hiding might be praised by politicos but it is not well perceived in the general public, who are certainly more than a little tired of politicking over principles and fluff over substance. (more…)
