Watching Michelle Bachmann wielding the Gardasil  issue against Rick Perry was like watching a little girl with an automatic pistol. You cringed as she held it to her own head…

The only one who will do real damage to Rick Perry is the current Governor of Texas, who, as the following quote of the week makes clear, is perfectly suited to the job: (more…)

Many Republicans find that they like Ron Paul’s fiscal ideas, but  think that they disagree with his foreign policy, calling it “weak,” “misguided,” “pro-Islam,” “anti-Israel,” and then some.

This is a mini-debate in 2 minutes and 42 seconds.

Dino takes almost two minutes to completely dodge the question and then articulate the rhetoric of the GOP estabishment, including McCain: “tough” border security that lets a lot of people in.

Clint wins the debate with his fist two words.

Gossett, in black beret, in media photo series

Thursday the AMNESTY AND OPEN BORDERS MOVEMENT blockaded a federal immigration court entrance, offices for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and finally, downtown Seattle streets. The lawlessness was intentional, planned and a little bit Republican.

Ånarchists Befuddle Marxists

Thwarting their plans to magnify exposure by getting arrested, Seattle Police simply refused to enforce the law. Anarchists across the spectrum of anarchy must be celebrating this evening! But the organizers, clearly disappointed, accused the police of a “political decision.” Welcome to Crazy World.

“I think the 35 people who were ready to be arrested did what they could to be arrested, but the city didn’t want to,” said David Ayala, activist with “OneAmerica,” an anti-American front group opposing border sovereignty.

Lost in the protest was the crucial role the King County Republican Party has played. (more…)

Two years ago Sen. John McCain was lording it over the Republican National Convention with absolute power. His credentials committe broke RNC rules for him and armed guards roamed the floor on his behalf looking for anyone not loyal to the moderate/liberal Senator, occasionally (illegally) searching  delegates’ persons and (illegally) conficating personal property. It was a sunny morning in 2004. Rob McKenna (now McCain chair) was on the stump and looking like a young Slade Gorton or Rudi Giuliani (but with hair). He was smart, politically savvy and liberal enough, at least on social issues, to be re-elected, unopposed, as Councilman in Soviet King County. And this was to be his banner year, the year to be elected State Attorney General

It happened at the King County Republican Convention, where, later that day, McKenna’s speech would extol the imminent success of the Washington State GOP: we were well financed, organized, unified, and with a newly shrunken and “broadened” platform! Nothing was missing! Victory was assured!  [McKenna, thanks almost entirely to the Builders Industry Association of Washington, did, indeed, form a one-two winning combination behind Dino Rossi, but the balance of the Republican ticket was, generally, slaughtered in November.] (more…)

Based on their published positions, political promises and past actions in public office on the Immigration issue, both legal and illegal, we have rankings of the Republican  Contenders for the 2008 Presidential Nomination. There are still two tiers and a few surprises. Here, not on hype, but detailed analysis,  is the clear winner; the surprise, down to the wire, photo-finish loser, and the six runners-up:

As you can see, the Media/elite’s first tier is the conservative Illegal Immigration second tier, and vice-versa. I wonder why that is? (more…)

Ninety-five percent of outstanding homicide warrants in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens. But in fairness to the other side’s argument, they’re coming here to kill people Americans won’t kill. That’s when you know you have an illegal alien problem: When American murderers are losing their jobs to foreign murderers.

Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have begun doing passable impressions of Lou Dobbs. But can you trust a candidate whose record contradicts his campaign rhetoric? (That was a rhetorical question.)

Cultural differences as well as legal conflicts permeate the whole illegal immigration issue. These pictures from the immigration border crossing area shows what people in that area put up with, but which those farther away cannot quite comprehend unless they see it.  Those making laws to accommodate such influxes do NOT live in areas where they encounter the proof of the reasons why objections to massive influxes of illegals are growing. Aparent LANDMARK RNC RESOLUTION last Friday.

…having expressed their opposition to illegal immigration, would then cut off all possibility of a conservative candidacy and throw their unqualified support to a pro-illegal immigration candidate…”

Wait’til you read what the Republican National Committee just passed.

astley-rising.jpgAs the house of Open Borders (¡FRONTERAS ABIERTAS!) seems to crumble, nationwide, following the collapse of the Comprehsive Amnesty bill in the Senate; as illegals are pulling up stakes in Georgia (which cut off their welfare) to head back to Mexico and as other States and localities are looking at similar legislation;  as the Bush administration seems (seven years too late) to be getting serious about enforcing immigration law instead of undermining it; as big, labor-intensive industries are sending ultimatums to HR companies to get them a legal work force or else; as the world must seem to be falling down around their ears to the Republican National HispAmnesty Assembly, the RNC peasants have finally overturned the tables on their elitist masters and passed (more…)

ps-r3.gifWritten by Phyllis Schlaffly, another pro-life activist and ally in the fight against illegal immigration and amnesty.

Contrary to continuing media propaganda, the 2006 election and the killing of the Senate “comprehensive” immigration bill do NOT prove that anti-amnesty is a loser for Republicans. The Democrats who won in 2006 campaigned with Republican-rhetoric messages calling for border security, and they kept their promises in the decisive cloture vote on June 28.

Republican Senators voted No by a 3-to-1 majority (37 to 12), and they were conspicuously joined by three new Democratic Senators who defeated incumbent Republicans last November after criticizing the failure of our government to stop the flow of illegal aliens across our border. They were Senators Jim Webb (VA), Jon Tester (MT), and Claire McCaskill (MO) who said simply, “I like to keep my word.”

The Senate bill, so aggressively lobbied by President Bush and Senator Ted Kennedy, didn’t even (read more) (more…)

Delivered by yours truly:

images.jpgDear Friends,

I regret that I cannot tell you in person how grateful I am, but thank you.

Thank you so much for your phone calls, your emails, your contributions and everything you did to help “we the people” kill the Bush-Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill in the Senate last week. The American people have said “no” to amnesty, and now they need a president who stands foursquare with them, not one who will sell out once elected.

I am that candidate! And our campaign is the vehicle to ensure that amnesty NEVER happens!

You’re here today because you understand that every day America is under assault: There are nearly twenty million illegal aliens in the country today and before the next presidential election millions more will cross our borders, threatening our economic security, jeopardizing our national security and undermining our national culture.

For nearly a decade, I have fought relentlessly for real immigration reform—a secure border, enforcement of our laws, prosecution of employers who hire illegals, and NO AMNESTY for illegal aliens.   In my first term, I founded the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus with one member, myself; today, it includes 108 members of the House.  No matter how nasty and bitter the opposition I have faced over the years… from the Hispanic lobby, the corporate special interests, the congressional leadership, and the White House, I have never wavered and never compromised.

While many of my Republican opponents have flipped on this issue since they became presidential candidates, their courage comes from their focus groups and pollsters. But Washington is full of those kinds of guys and thanks to them we have nearly 20 million illegals in this country and more coming every day.

I know you agree that illegal immigration is one of the greatest threats to our nation, and that is why I need your help. A strong grassroots showing at the Iowa Straw Poll on Saturday, August 11, will be an enormous boost to my candidacy, and will ensure that Washington understands America wants action NOW. Not only do we want no more talk of amnesty —we want the border defended, and our laws enforced, and we want the invasion stopped NOW. So please, call 1-888-GOTOM-08 and get involved. Or just visit my website, www.teamtancredo.org

My friends, with your help we can and will make the crisis on our borders THE ISSUE of the 2008 Presidential campaign and stop amnesty once and for all

Thank you so very much.

Sincerely,

Congressman Tom Tancredo
