There is no question that when you are alone, you have a private moment. Beyond that, there is considerable debate.

aarrgh-no-girls-allowed“The Republican Party is a PRIVATE organization”

Luke Esser and Lori Sotelo announced that masterfully in 2008 and were able thereby to prevent the State Convention and the King County Party, respectively, from interfering with what Luke and Lori wanted to do… uh… privately.

Man did not come from nothing, but we will pretend he did. And that he emerged, slowly, from a primitive state, without guidance.

Og was a strong one and he found a sharp stone from among all the stones that lay about, everywhere, free of charge. But Og discerned that this was a special stone and that because of its weight and shape and the sharpness of one edge it could be used for cutting wood and he christened it “Ax” or as shortly became clear, “Og’s Ax.” (more…)

I heard you on the wireless back in Ninety-Two
Lying awake intent at tuning in on you.
If I was young it didn’t stop you coming through.

Oh-a oh

They took the credit for your Reagan Eulogy.
Rewritten by machine and new technology,
and now I understand the problems you can see. (more…)

Continuing with my inside political news, kids, I was hoping, by this morning, to be able to announce an absolutely BREAKTHROUGH campaign. It’s been delayed, but, I just can’t contain myself. Promise not to share this with anyone. If you quote me, I’ll deny it. Promise? (more…)

How to Commemorate 911

The seriousness of what I am about to say cannot be over emphasized. The commemoration of the tragedy of 911 is akin to an American “Good Friday.” It may be “good,” good times and good politics,  but don’t forget it is also like a time for mourning.

This emerging national political holiday is a time to gather with family and friends. It is a time to remember. And never forget. It is not because we want to commemorate the hijackers, but rather the evil they accomplished and how it changed everything. But while we’re at it, it is a wonderful time for Midstream women to demonstrate their organizational and social skills to accomplish our political goals. (more…)

One of the most entertaining narratives of the Presidential season circa 2012 comes out of Texas. An Austin man named Robert Morrow alleges he can now prove that Governor Rick Perry has never had sexual relations. (more…)

The State of New York today became the thirteenth State to sign the International Declaration of Preemptive War (the IDPW), Joining Illinois, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland, Vermont, Maine, Delaware, Rhode Island, California, Oregon, Washington and hundreds of State and Federal officials, former Presidents and other prominent individuals. Speaking at a “declaration of preemptive war” formal cotillion, Governor Andrew Cuomo quipped, “If we can make it here, we can make it anywhere!” amid rumors that the State’s legislature is meeting later in the week to consider preemptive attacks on Taiwan and the Vatican. Speakers also included George W. Bush and President Barack Obama (speaking through a teleprompter). (more…)

We stand at a point of crisis, in fact, many crises,  just as we have been doing for more than 70 years without fully realizing it. Even me. And, just as it was in 1972 when Nixon facilitated the earth in averting  Sino-Soviet cooperation, Midstream Republicans must save us.

Our destruction is at hand from many sources. In this article I divulge the top ten most urgent, starting with some of the better-known. (more…)

Victorious in Libya, Qaddafi to run for Mayor of Seattle

The director of Midstream Republicans of Washington announced this morning that Muammar Qaddafi will not step down as Libyan leader, but will prevail and that following the defeat of anti-government extremists in Libya, will relocate to the State of Washington and begin a campaign for Mayor of the City of Seattle.

As I’ve pointed out many times the problem with so-called “conservatives” is they always want government that’s “against” something; it’s never about what they’re “for.”

We moderates are the ones that are “for” things. But I must admit, except for Dino Rossi’s campaign and its wonderful foray into fashion, we’ve been in a bit of a rut of late, as if we’ve been somehow intimidated into simply emulating the right (although I do love my camouflage outfits!)

And until Mitt Romney unveils his “Government Clearinghouse Sweepstakes” we need something to get us out of the doldrums. I have it!

I just had to respond to Doug Parris’s Religious Extremism  in the “O Holy Night” post (not to mention his thoughtlessness to those of us who lost close friends in the Civil War). I wanted something more open, universal, and diverse.

Something truly worthy of the greeting, “Happy Holidays!”

And then I got inspired! It was a Midstream epiphany! O holy cow! (more…)

Earthquake

With the recent article showing that the Haiti fault line runs all the way to France, we need to be cognizant of a much greater threat to our beloved Earth than global warming.

Man’s incessant drilling for oil and removing water from subterranean aquifers from well drilling is creating a much greater problem than CO2 production. It is causing increased tectonic plate shifts. (more…)

episcoparty.jpgIf you don’t have to stand in the line of fire, the absurd struggles of the “Episcopal Church” In Washington have a definite appeal to the funny bone in a series reported recently by the Seattle Times.

Forget all the controversy over the ordination of women, the adoption of homosexuality and the re-definition of Jesus. The latest episode in the long-running Norman Lear situation comedy, “EpiscoParty!” is the excitement of the hilarious apostate bishop of Olympia  the “Rt. Rev.” Vincent Warner (played last season by Tom Poston) over the possibilities of Muslim/Episcopal priests. “I’m excited,” says Warner in the season-opening ”Afro/Muslim/Episcopal” episode.

The introduction of the Afro/Muslim/Episcopal theme in the series is accomplished with the new character “Rev. Ann Holmes” (Whoopi Goldberg) who, we think, is destined to take her place with Archie Bunker, Maude, and George Jefferson as an icon in the Norman Lear “People of the American Way” universe.
