Some people wonder why I take on people like “Tomas” (see comments here on “Red Letter Christian Wolves”
post.) Well, let me tell you about it because my ire against such is rooted not only in patriotism, or my faith, but also from personal firsthand experience.
In April 1961, I awoke at dawn to the sound of explosions and gunfire when the “Bay of Pigs” invasion broke out in Cuba. My father was arrested and rounded up in Havana stadium with 100,000 others who were suspected of opposing Fidel Castro. By miraculous providence he was released only to be forced into “public service” at the cost of his thriving architectural business. All of our personal assets were nationalized as well – our home, furniture, money, jewelry, everything. We lived in fear from that day forward. (more…)
