The following was received Wednesday afternoon in reaction to the recent Hutchison Note article (Part One and Part Two). The article has unleashed what has become, in some counties, a firestorm of grassroots anger and Old Guard Republican Establishment slander attacks on their own grassroots.

Doug,

I think I know who it was that screened Susan’s email; (more…)

[We ended Part 1 of this tale having set the stage for a meeting Doug had told Susan they had to have as long ago as August 2013 when they ran into each other at the RLCWA board meeting in Ellensburg, which we reported on here. We continue as Susan and Doug sit down to begin their meeting...]

I went to see State Party Chair Susan Hutchison because I believed she had assumed that office with the opportunity to change the WSRP Culture of “Circle the Wagons” and defeat, but was in danger, instead, of being digested. What I really wanted was to crash through the door with an offer of salvation from the Terminator series:

TaxpayerRobbery_Government-UncleSamHigh-Tax States are that way because their political leadership has a socialist/liberal/Marxist philosophy.  Washington State has had historically high liquor prices in controlled-price  monopoly stores so… passage of an enterprising Citizen’s Initiative privatized liquor sales, bypassing our bureaucratic parasites…

So have they  gotten the message ?

Christian Berrigan

Christian Berrigan

Christian Berrigan is running for the GOP state chair in Washington State. Why should you care? If you’re in WA, you absolutely should, because this man has the guts and the principles to change the back room deals, lying and corruption that are so prevalent on the Republican side here in WA. What’s most important is that he’s a conservative. Not a panderer, not a liberal, not a “social libertarian,” but a real conservative who understands what this state in trouble needs so desperately. He was nice enough to sit down and answer some questions for us so folks could see where he stands on the issues. I think you’ll be impressed—we are. (more…)

roanoke podium wilburIn his reelection/inaugural speech on Jan. 19th, State GOP Chair, Kirby Wilbur, announced, “I voted for Mitt Romney and Rob McKenna and I’m not ashamed because the worst Republican is better than the best Democrat!”

It could have been a fitting introduction to the Roanoke Conference six days later. Because for three days, Wilbur – and the  Conference – pondered how the Party could continue to run Washington State’s worst Republicans – the kind for whom Wilbur has worked overtime securing nominations – and still find a way to stop  their epidemic of losses to the best Democrats. *

And over the course of the Conference the latest “New Direction” emerged. (more…)

RLCThe best of all its possible futures passed before the Washington State Republican Party in the guise of visions cast the weekend of January 25th – 27th   All the elements that will decide the Republican fate (what the Party will do, and receive in return for their efforts) were on display. But since those visions were cast in two conferences, held simultaneously (as luck would have it) in two hotels in two cities (NOT as should happen, in a common State Convention), not one single person actually saw them all. There were no rebuttals or counter-arguments to any proposal at either pole. And the Party as a whole will not, by majority vote of elected representatives, decide its own direction. (more…)

There is no question that when you are alone, you have a private moment. Beyond that, there is considerable debate.

aarrgh-no-girls-allowed“The Republican Party is a PRIVATE organization”

Luke Esser and Lori Sotelo announced that masterfully in 2008 and were able thereby to prevent the State Convention and the King County Party, respectively, from interfering with what Luke and Lori wanted to do… uh… privately.

This crob and gadsdenoming weekend …

Rob McKenna (from an email blast paid for by  Friends of Rob McKenna) wants to see you in Ocean Shores…”at the 4th annual  … [Midstream] Roanoke Conference … Washington State’s premier gathering of Republicans…”

We are told some who were headed to Ocean Shores to hear such “premier” Republicans as Slade Gorton, have in the wake of Kirby’s coronation last Saturday, cancelled their plans and are headed for Yakima instead, for the first statewide event of the Republican Liberty Caucus to (more…)

wilbur micWe know through private channels that Washington State Republican Party Chair Kirby Wilbur always carries a concealed firearm.

However we know from public experience, that he does not, in practice, support the right of others to do so.

The Second Amendment was one of many casualties of Kirby’s stewardship of the 2012 Washington State Republican Convention and Caucus process.

Mr. Wilbur, in every possible way, treated that process as though its sole purpose was to anoint the candidacy of Mitt Romney and Rob McKenna by any means necessary.

The October 17 cover of the Stranger, King County’s leading satanic publication, pictures Republican Gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna laughing. Superimposed over the photo are giant letters spelling out the question, “WHY IS THIS MAN LAUGHING?” and the Stranger’s answer: “Because he thinks you‘re stupid enough to vote for him.”

Inside, the supporting article is co-authored by the twin Stranger political avatars: Dan Savage, the Svengali of Sexual Perversion and David “Goldy” Goldstein, the maven of Marxist economics. Like virtually everything we read at the Stranger, almost every word in the article is a lie.

This is my defense of McKenna. (more…)

Show us the money, Kirby.
At the August state committee meeting in Pasco, a mere handful of “Republicans,” without input from, or notice to, the grassroots Party members they are supposed to represent,  “nominated” candidates for statewide office.

Why?

What difference does it make?

How has the party provided money for those candidates? Did they actually vote on that? (more…)

This week in federal court, Rob McKenna’s team of attorneys are arguing that a grocery store in Olympia must sell the abortion drug (morning-after pill) despite the store owner’s Christian-based pro-life beliefs.

Kevin Stormans, owner of Ralph’s Thriftway, says he and his employees oppose abortion and will not stock the morning-after pill. Stormans acknowledges that his store may lose customers because of his value-based decision. [Ed. note: Storman's ordeal began four years ago.]

“All our family wants is the chance to keep doing what Ralph’s Thriftway has done for four generations: to serve our customers in keeping with our deepest values,” says Stormans.                  (Olympian, 11/27) (more…)

According to political tradition a trailing candidate calls for debates and a leading candidate avoids them because they can change things.

So when late in the Washington State GOP Chair race, incumbent Luke Esser’s side announced debates, it raised eyebrows. After all, incumbents usually win Party office contests in Washington. And Esser’s opponent was a talk show host and experienced convention chairman; poised, glib, confident. Those of us who saw him in action in the 80’s know Kirby’s radio career was no accident. He has long been skilled in articulating conservative ideas. He is not the kind of guy you want to engage in verbal confrontations about GOP issues unless absolutely necessary. And Kirby said the debate was set up among the other three candidates without consulting him.

The move suggested that Luke was trailing, knew it, and had exhausted all other options. (more…)

elephant-shoe.jpgAfter the 2006 election debacle, where the Washington State GOP handed the legislature over to the Democrats, I’ve been waiting for the other shoe to drop.

And the shoes they have been a dropping. Here they are as outlined by David Postman of the Seattle Times:

Former Rep. Richard Curtis quit suddenly after a sex scandal. Rep. Jim Dunn was reprimanded and kicked off all his committees after making an inappropriate sexual remark to a female staffer. Rep. Shirley Hankins agreed to pay a record settlement with the Legislative Ethics Board for violations related to her work promoting her daughter’s business. And Rising star Rep. Chris Strow quit last week for a new job with the Puget Sound Regional Council.

News now is that the pro-abortion Fred Jarrett (R) has switched sides and become a Democrat. Not surprising really, or as one blogger put it — “It’s kind of like Richard Simmons coming out.” (more…)
