Why should Patty’s close ally choose her Republican Opponent?
Sen. Patty Murray, in tribute to Slade Gorton
“…Tony Williams, a well-known GOP lobbyist who was chief of staff to former Republican Sen. Slade Gorton, held a fundraiser for Murray earlier this year.” ~
ACharles Pope, The Oregonian, March 29, 2010.
“Friends of Slade Gorton have mounted a multimillion-dollar campaign to establish a think tank in the former U.S. senator’s name. The Slade Gorton International [Globalist] Policy Center at Seattle’s National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) will provide a showcase for the legacy that is Gorton’s vast political career… Support comes from Gorton’s friends — including an army of former Senate staffers who have formed the Gorton Legacy Group. Washington’s two Democratic senators, Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell, also are trying to get $250,000 in federal funds for the center.
Early this year candidates in the U.S. Senate race were asked if they would kindly drop out if Dino Rossi entered the race. The person asking them was Slade Gorton.
