Numerous are the reasons why it failed. Many will blame the victims. “Like herding cats,” it is said. Certainly the anarcho-conservative ideals (“leave me alone” is anarchistic whether people agree to that or not) are fostered by people who are not apt to be told what to do. There is nothing new here. Others will say there were too many big egos – but I have in my experience learned that the “big egos” that have wrecked the more generalized embodiment of “patriot movement” were not patriots and if not on a federal payroll, were under the influence of someone who was or worse, working “pro bono.”
There were a lot of good people behind the movement though. I can vouch for that. I can say even more so to the altruism. Most of the people working against tyranny I have met have not (yet) been direct victims of tyranny. There is much more to say about the character of a person who, for example, sees others getting abused by cops and wants to do something about it, than could be said for someone who was fat, dumb, and happy right up to the moment some cop decided to kick their ass and then charge their target with assault.
Now more than ever it seems like tyranny is here, yet the awareness of it coming did not stop it. It’s really kind of sad. Fortunately for me I have a strange ability to turn despair into energy so the worse the bastards make it the less sleep and food I need and the more creative I become.
Back in the 1990s, we saw the tyranny just as much then as we see it now. I know older freedom fighters that saw it sooner, and looking back in history, some will say that the problem started with the outcome of the Whiskey Rebellion. In fact, the ONLY thing being able to see has done for me, is to be prepared for the disappointment for when it actually arrives.
“Something wicked this way comes” the old saying goes. Yeah, we know its name, what it looks like, and we know exactly what it’s going to do, why it will do it, and how, too. In the 2008 GOP Convention I saw a lot of young patriots shaking with rage (and this is something the GOP hacks that were behind the crimes in 2008 should be losing sleep over) so much so that they cried. But I stood there along with a few other “experienced” (read: “screwed before”) patriots and we said to each other “Surprised?” “Nope.” “Me neither.” But even long before 2008, back when we were shooting holes in U.N. Flags (JPFO.org had a great cheap target for this) and sending them to Ron Paul with donations (and we didn’t even live in Texas), it seemed even more bleak. To make it short: everybody had credit, everybody’s brother’s sister’s cousin’s roommate was selling some house owned by a deceased parent that was bought for 15K in the 1950s for around 200K , everybody was buying SUVs with matching pair of bloated turbocharged sit-down jet skis to pull, everybody was an idiot. Sure there was Fox News – but that ensured that those who thought they had “escaped the Matrix” of not following what the mainstream media was telling them had only managed to get into another matrix controlled by “the alternate mainstream media.” So the answer to big government socialism pushed by the mainstream media was big government nationalism pushed by Fox News. Wow. What a choice.
Terms like “BOB” (Bug Out Bag), ATFOTRAF (“after the first one, the rest are free”), and TEOTWAWKI (The End of The World As We Know It) were only known in dark smoky backrooms of surplus stores and shooting ranges where old men who would have reminded you of Mr. Rate from the movie titled “Shooter” (2007) could tell you about dark things amidst olive drab objects and the smell of old cosmoline.
Nope, back then it was harder, because people were not getting their wakeup calls. If you spoke of liberty, tyranny, or anything of that matter, you were “the weird guy.” Case closed. Cue the Black Helicopter and Tinfoil Hat humor. You were supposed to talk about only what was on Seinfeld or Friends the night before, sports, how much your divorce cost, the Macarena, etc.
Today is different. And things are going to get much more different because patriots failed.
What did we do so wrong? Where have we gone wrong? Why has God forsaken us?
Forsaken we may well could be. But don’t take it personally. Even if compelled, on my knees, rifle in the dirt, raising my hands to the sky and asking “Why, God? Why?” it’s not personal. It should not be for anybody else really.
Let me put it this way: let’s suppose we had some ability to “bring it all down” in say, 1996 or some year 15 to 20 years ago. Yes, the only chance given to us was Bob Dole. So nothing was brought down. No, I didn’t bother to vote in 1996, but thanks for asking.
The sheeple who were sheepling along, brainless, heads full of self-gratification and anything that was only 3 feet in front of them, would have sheepled onward all the same. In fact, given a generation or two, “it” (that which was brought down) would be back.
There is no big magical hand of God that comes down from the heavens and smacks sense into stupid people. It used to be that people who had no sense about them would end up starving to death in the winter or across a field somewhere to absorb bullets on behalf of an aristocrat. But it’s not as easy to die these days and death is not a good learning experience for mortals anyway. There are also people (“super elites” and their caste of go-fers numbering around 6000) who think us all useless eaters who would sooner employ the Grim Reaper for their own ends. So we should consider it an improvement in the world that stupidity is not so lethal. In fact the bigger the human race gets, the more unruly, interesting, and impossible to centrally manage it becomes. Death is not our friend.
The “smacking” comes when your career and means of making a living are regulated and outsourced away. The smacking comes when you can’t afford food and fuel any more because the Federal Reserve and the banksters who run it have devalued your currency while making constitutionally-approved competing currency all but illegal by fiat. The smacking comes when you are getting glared at, scrutinized, and searched in a border checkpoint well within the border. The smacking comes when the TSA agent has his hands down your pants. The smacking comes when they try to take your land away or make it unusable because of some communistic/enviro-nazi decrees. The smacking comes when they codify into the law the ability to take you away into the night and hold you without reason and indefinitely.
The smacking will be even so much harsher when it’s happening – and it is now. It’s happening one stupid face at a time.
But all that slapping … perhaps this is what the Lord said when referring to “turning the other cheek”? Maybe the admonition was not about submission or peace, but about learning?
And I am ready to slap the other cheeks myself. There are times when I wish God would give me the job. To me ignorance is like a third arm growing out of a person’s chest. When I meet ignorant people, I could rip that arm off and beat them to death with it. This is why I seldom take a podium. As an old firearms instructor, a wellspring of gun knowledge he was, once said to me “Don’t be stupid in front of me. I’ll enjoy it.” Let’s face it (no pun intended), I spent way too much time being ostracized and smirked at by the same people who are now waking up. When someone comes at me talking about some kind of injustice or problem, I am compelled to start with “Where were you when….” And I know where most of them were. They were watching TV, running up those bills, driving that SUV, watching that sitcom, hanging out at that sports bar, etc. Even worse are those who did not wake up until personally screwed over by “the system,” as if the system had any other role before they woke up to it. I have a hard time mustering up any respect for them. Had “the incident” not happened, where would they be now?
This is my own harsh ideal though. I am not going to slap anybody. I will reserve my energy for the tar and feathers.
But getting back to why we fail, we fail because God wanted us to fail, and nothing we could have done could stop it. Nobody who set forth with good intentions and made an effort truly screwed it up or did everything wrong. We have seen a lot of minor mistakes though. Looking back, everybody who stood up did pretty much what they could do within their capabilities and should not be faulted because their efforts appear wasted. We failed because Joe Six-pack and Sally Sokkermom (yes I spell it with a K making it suitable for Amerikan English) needed to suffer. When you run a country (into the ground) like this being all about your base desires, there’s hell to pay. Period.
And what of base desires? Let’s suppose I had a truckload of soap and wanted to sell it. Now I could have a soap commercial to sell the soap (this never happened, the soap box I stand on daily was stolen). Do I use busty half-naked women in my soap commercial? Is that a sin? Is it just plain wrong to do something like that? But what if that works? Is the sin therefore on behalf of those for whom selling soap with a sexy advertisement would work?
Let me give you an example of something more real. Back in “the day,” we had jet skis. These were the old stand-ups. You needed skills to ride them – no quick gratification there. Sometimes it took weeks to get it right, and you were going to wipe out a lot, like surfing. I have a scar on my chin to show it.
I knew people who were of the base mentality type attempt to ride these jet skis. They would try for 10 minutes, and then give it up. I once bought an old ski from a friend who was a bit into the substances. He tried to use his boat when high as a kite, failed miserably, and then left this thing (brand new at the time too) in his yard full of water. Years later I got a good deal on it for spare parts.
For the most part, having won the skills to ride such a craft, we were also boaters in general and adhered to the rules for boating. It was no big deal. That didn’t stop me from hitting the harbor patrol’s boat one day but that’s another story (put it right onto the diving platform too – even the cops were impressed. These days you’d go to jail for that thanks to people clamoring for more police state over the 20 years since those days).
owards the ends of “the day” (I think this was 1991), the show “Baywatch” was gaining in popularity. In that show, there were scantily clad women, and occasionally jet skis. I recall an article in a Jet Ski magazine about this – said it would “put jet skiing on the map” and so it did, unfortunately. It showed the “kind” of person who watched “Baywatch” – the kind who would have bought my imaginary soap with my imaginary commercial – what a jet ski was and worse; these were “sit-down” jet skis meaning no investment in earning the skill to ride them. We also called them “butt skis.” This meant that the possibly self-gratifying crowd (don’t ask if you don’t get that) that watched “Baywatch” being also of the quick gratification mentality started getting these newer models suitable for a lower common denominator.
I kind of had a feeling where things were going when, at the end of the summer of 1991, I nearly got killed by some guy leaving the pier full throttle on a Kawasaki TS – while sitting on the handlebars facing backwards. The boaters were gone, and the boat ramp area looked like a bad beer commercial in the making.
In 1992 I left to serve this country (yeah even I am prone to good mistakes) and came back in 1996. By 1996 – four years later, it was next to impossible to “splash a jet ski,” meaning to make use of a boat ramp to put one in the water, because most of these places were off limits to these kinds of boats. You see, that crowd who saw the jet skis on “Baywatch” created a lot of problems – accidents, fights at public boat ramps breaking out, and more often the case: total inconsideration for other boaters. The boating community simply had enough and started to demand new restrictions. I remember in 1996, having gotten my old boat back in the water, watching a man on a butt ski doing things to a passing yacht that we (those who didn’t get inspired by “Baywatch” and were using Jet skis since before that show) would never do. Yes, wake-jumping is usually a nuisance but there were ways to do it without endangering lives and wrecking the peace of other boaters. In the late 80s we had that down to a science. Any one of use could tell you how the pressure wave of a large boat creates a surge where there are shallow or reefs and how the energy of the wave is greater even farther off, but I digress.
So you see, this is why I ask “where is the sin?” They “sold” jet skis with breasts and bikinis, and the “kind of people” who got them ruined what had been a boater’s hobby, turning it into something that was, by the mid 90s, viewed as a scourge of the waterways.
So we have the “kind of people” whom you can use breasts and skin to sell soap to.
We have the kind of people you can use a “need to belong” to sell status symbols to.
We have the kind of people whose heart strings can be pulled with imagery and zero logic to support the causes of giving away someone else’s freedom and money over.
We have the kind of people who can be sold on fear – let some terrorists pull off an attack, and then while the image is fresh in their minds and they are all afraid, install a tyranny over a once free country – then invoke that one day for 11 years while making things even worse without any evidence of anything more to fear.
We have the kind of people who use the state apparatus for their own personal power trip, be it from watching war footage and using “we” in reference to whatever the armed forces are doing some thousands of miles away to seeing someone with a gun in a holster and, not liking that, ninny about it and embellish on how they feel threatened to the cops.
We have the kind of people who would support a socialist like Obama, or a fascist like McCain, and no matter how hard the evidence, will never admit they were wrong. This is like the full blown alcoholic beating the wife and kids daily who will not admit to drinking too much, or the drug addict who has pawned off the possessions of his entire family who will not admit to having a substance abuse problem.
And our nation, once a “shining city on a hill,” is now the scourge of the world, bombing countries into democracy, funding political chaos in others, 900+ bases worldwide, and a monetary system that comprises a financial tumor as big as the moon.
What drove the Russians to support communism? What drove the Germans to support National Socialism? Fear. Hatred. Envy. Ego. Jealousy. Power tripping.
The Russians got 70 years of hard tyranny under communism. The Germans ended up roofless and shivering, entire branches of their family trees cut away by war and fortunes lost.
What will Americans get?
What DID the Americans get? And they are getting it good and hard too.
What we already got, and it’s only apparent now, is the right to complain about everything while getting too boxed in to do anything about it. What we already have, is a socialistic welfare state combined with a fascistic warfare state, brought to you by “3000 tyrants one mile away.” http://www.hark.com/clips/tqqkkllkfk-3000-tyrants-one-mile-away
In the end, and I am nearing the end of this rant, there is nothing new. The same people who were greasing the rollers under the blocks of their pyramids and obelisks with the bodies of dead slaves are still in charge, and they are using the same old tricks with new and more creative results . Some revolutionaries back then, with an equal understanding of humanity, managed to put the Old Testament to parchment. The battle has since carried on. There is no going back, though. I have seen too many arguments towards going back to the days of Moses and if everybody just had a farm and wore robes and worried only about their ox goring the neighbor, everything would be fine. But we were “there,” and having been “there,” would end up back “here” again. We forget that the power of death over us being vanquished, thanks to the one whose birthday we celebrate this month, was a cue to move forward and beyond. So it’s kind of sad that everybody’s nightmare had to happen as a reminder . But, like that incident in the Garden of Eden, and all the way up to what is happening now, it was expected.
Once the people have suffered and are ready to get off the ground, if we are still interested in doing the right thing we have to help them up, lest we fall to our own bitterness. This, after all, was an underlying theme of “A Christmas Carol”:
“Business!” cried the Ghost (Jacob Marley), wringing its hands again. “Mankind was my business. The common welfare was my business; charity, mercy, forbearance, and benevolence were, all, my business. The dealings of my trade were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!”
“At this time of the rolling year,” the specter said, “I suffer most. Why did I walk through crowds of fellow beings with my eyes turned down, and never raise them to that blessed Star which led the Wise Men to a poor abode! Were there no poor homes to which its light would have conducted me!”
And then we do something about it.
If the word “anarchy” or “anarchist” scares you, and it invokes images of guys with black ski masks breaking store windows, consider then that during G20 protests, OWS protests, and anti-austerity protests, in an environment where cops are standing by bugging their eyes out ready to pounce on you for anything, why all of the sudden these guys in black show up and manage to damage property in full view of media news crews while cops do nothing. If “anarchy” scares you, admit to yourself you are a conditioned sheeploid by a concerted effort of the government and the media, take a breath, correct yourself, and then move on.
Funny thing was, people thought they were “making a profit” but what was the cost of replacing that house in the same categories at that given time period?
“New World Order” is actually incorrect. The order of usury, debt, slavery, “cryptocracy”, and death was actually the “Old World Order.”
Sad for them, but they deserved it. Those of us who were not sleeping still got to endure it.
