By Anthony Bosworth – Bunkerville, Nevada – Sunday, April 13, 2014:
What we saw here is a major point in the history of this country and God is behind it.
People will look back at [the Battle of Bunkerville] as a point when history began to change.
If this [turning point] was just “meant to happen” at this time, why did it not simply happen to an anti-government man? There are plenty of those around. Why wasn’t it an atheist? Why wasn’t it a man with one or no children? There are lots of those around, too, who are just as committed to liberty, to standing up against tyranny.
Why instead did it happen to a biblical man? A man with a large family? A man of God, really. A man whose children are very well educated and were home-schooled?
This is the story we want people to know.
This event was against all odds…that people would travel a thousand miles to stand with this family.
For our Washington team, I have no doubt, God made certain the right people were moving at the right time in the right direction. There is no doubt each person on our team was hand-picked by God to be here.
Talking to people about their trips down here confirms God was behind this.
Just to use my own story as an example (and we have heard many like it), I made the decision independently to come down here but I did not have the resources to make the trip, so I did put out a call for people to help if they wanted. (I did not know it, but Josh Jones had made the decision to go but was trying to figure out how to manage it. Scott had also determined to go and was looking for companions.) So when I put out the word I intended to go, almost immediately Scott stepped up with his truck and I did not have to pay for the gas. And people came by with what ended up being JUST ENOUGH to get down here. (Gavin also decided independently to come to Nevada and we met for the first time at the rally site.) Our team, including Matt Shea and Gavin, came together effortlessly, it just seemed to happen without us doing anything in particular to make it happen.
Although I planned to come back Monday, once here I was asked to stay on, but Scott and Josh had to leave by the weekend, leaving me with no way to get back to Washington.
Then, when Maria decided to come down to bring my truck and our travel trailer and I couldn’t talk her out of it … there were necessary expenses before those vehicles could go on the road … and it took every penny we had to meet them, so she literally left town with no money and just enough gas to get from our place into town and without a word being spoken, people stepped up with JUST ENOUGH for her and Paul to get to Nevada and once there, people (without us saying a word) gave JUST ENOUGH for my trip home (whenever that is).
I am telling you, you can’t make this stuff up!
Really, I took the risk of looking like a fool, for I left on this trip without the resources I needed.
And when we look at the people that showed up to support the Bundys … God put JUST ENOUGH people on site to get the job done. Why did the BLM decide to, if you will, “back down” yesterday? Why didn’t they continue for another week or two? I know from my personal contacts that at least 3000 were on their way from Washington, Idaho, and Montana who did not continue after Saturday’s news. Reports are that thousands more were on their way.
But God didn’t need that many to get the job done. He had JUST ENOUGH.**
* “And Joshua said unto all the people [of Israel], … choose you this day whom ye will serve; … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:2, 15).
†The shofar, a rams horn trumpet, was used as an instrument of spiritual warfare…
“When you go to war in your land against an adversary who is oppressing you, you are to sound an alarm with trumpets; then you will be remembered before the LORD your God and you will be saved from your enemies” (Num. 10:9). Blowing the shofar declares that the LORD God is the King of the universe. It was instrumental in Joshua’s victory at the battle of Jericho by God’s direct instruction.
** Gideon achieved victory with an army culled to less than one percent (300) of its original size (32,000), at God’s explicit instructions. (Judges 7:4-7).
