==There is a refreshing honesty among openly Left activists entirely missing in the Republican ruling Left elite. For while honest Leftists pursue predictable agendas of philosophical lies that inevitably lead down the road to tyranny, they do so out of complete belief in those lies and an enthusiasm born of that sincerity. The Republican Elite, by contrast, make a living selling out their constituents to the same philosophical delusions, while constantly denying it, claiming to be opposing the tyrannies they enable and don’t actually, sincerely, believe anything.
It is, in some strange sense, not his fault that J. Riley Sweeney slandered our friends over at Liberty For All — the foremost current heroes of the Liberty Movement in Washington State — he is just following his belief system to its logical conclusions.
As I’m sure you are aware, sometime Friday it was discovered that the Communist occupier of our Governor’s Mansion had hoisted the Communist flag over the capitol in Olympia as a tribute to his friends, the murderous tyrants of the People’s Republic of China. (Certainly these must be Mr. Sweeney’s heroes, the Governor pushing, in every way possible, Environmental Communism and the erosion of private property while the ChiComs have accomplished the Left’s objectives in ways J. Riley and Jay Inslee can only dream about. For one thing, they are open about what they are, while J. and Jay must continue to obfuscate about the label until they can (in Gus Hall’s immortal words) strangle the last Christian with his own intestines.)
Following the removal of the flag by the middle-of-the-night intervention of Anthony Bosworth and a team of nine, J. Riley Sweeney, published almost obligatory lies about the event, at his blog, The Political Junkie. His rhetoric was brought up short, in commentary directly on that blog by The Reagan Wing’s Roberta. We give you both below: J. Riley’s fiction and Roberta’s corrections to its “facts.”
It was almost disappointing that Mr. Junkie agreed to back down on one of the points, but our faith in the permafrost of his deception was largely restored as he held fast to all the other fabrications (and, as we publish, has changed nothing).
J. Riley Sweeney’s original text:
Last week, the Chinese ambassador to the United States, Cui Tiankai, visited Olympia to meet with Gov. Jay Inslee for a trade meeting. In accordance with international protocol, the state flew the Chinese flag next to the US and State flags to honor the visiting dignitary.
This drew a small crowd of Tea Party activists who protested this act. This action appear be sparked by conservative activist Anthony Bosworth, a pro-gun activist and former Sheriff candidate from Yakima, who was was outraged that the Capitol would fly a “communist flag”. Bosworth took to facebook to rally opposition to this flag.
The Flag of Communist China flying over the capital of Washington State in a place of honor.
Governor Inslee is honored to be meeting with Ambassador CUI Tiankai of Communist China this morning.
We now know where the loyalties of our liberal, communist loving Governor are. The people of Washington State has asked the governor to address our list of grievances and yet we have heard nothing from him. But yet he takes time and Washington taxpayers money to show honor to one of the United States of America’s enemies a communist ambassador and he is honored to do so.
Activists gathered on Saturday morning to protest the flag, you can see their mighty crowd in the picture to the right. After a little bit, a state trooper arrived to remove the flag to the cheers of the gathered tea partiers.
Why was the trooper removing the flag? The ambassador had left for his next engagement. But that didn’t stop this story from circulating like wildfire through the conservative media – showing up on Fox News, the Examiner and then finally breaking through to more mainstream sources like, Huffington Post and the Wonkette.
Locally, State Rep. Matt Shea (R-Spokane) arrived to deliver a speech praising the activists. You might remember Rep. Shea as that legislator that was just as crazy as Rep. Jason Overstreet. Shea said, “In the dawns early light of Holy Saturday as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ these heroic patriots demanded that the Communist flag be taken down.”
I’m glad that this issue got resolved before it spilled out into the realm of international diplomacy. Our relationship with China is a complex and ever-changing negotiation and I would hate for Olympia to be a flashpoint for an international incident.
One last note, this wasn’t Bosworth’s first brush with controversy. He was arrested last month for carrying an assault rifle into a Federal Courthouse, and on his facebook page, you can find some charming videos of his kids field striping and reassembling various pistols.
TRW’s Roberta, in response (those who know her realize it takes something of magnitude for her to comment publicly):
Mr Sweeney, Whilst your political and philosophical positions are clear, you might at least have the journalistic integrity to ensure that what you write is accurate. (And some close attention to grammar, punctuation, and basic proofing would be welcome, as well.) Bias we might excuse. An “accidental error” we might excuse. But your list of LIES is long. Before you were born I was already reporting for a “flyover country” newspaper. It is a LIE that “Tea Party Activists” gathered in Olympia. You made that up. It is a blatant lie that Anthony Bosworth was arrested for “carrying an assault rifle into a federal courthouse.” It is NOT TRUE that a state trooper took down the flag. It is NOT TRUE that activists gathered to protest the Chinese flag being flown. They gathered to take it down. It is NOT TRUE that Rep. Matt Shea “arrived” [in Olympia] to deliver a speech…Representative Shea spoke in Spokane. Your “mighty crowd” slur is slanderous. It took only nine (dispatched at 1 am) to get the job done. No force wastes its resources to make a mighty show. They focus on mission, using the least resources necessary to accomplish the mission. You seem to think that globalist “protocol” should be followed whether it violates the state of Washington and the united states of America’s sovereignty or not.
But why these particular lies? The slander of Bosworth is obvious; it makes Sweeney’s political opponents out to be criminals. But why the fabrication about the Tea Party? Neither Bosworth nor any member of his team came from or is a “Tea Party” follower (nor detractor). The advantage to a Left propagandist (beyond the natural laziness of avoiding actual research) of a “Tea Party” reference is taking advantage of more than five years of hard work pumping out negative stereotypes for the leftist ideologues that form the bulk of Riley’s audience. “Tea Party, eh? They must be ignorant! They must be racists!” But like I said, J. Riley is a true believer. He actually buys into this stuff.
Because he said he would change one of the “facts” we are posting a PDF of the article he originally published. Click the link and read it as you would any other PDF document:
