For four years the disparate elements outlined in Train Wreck#1, though shrinking (as noted therein), held together waiting for a Washington State Ron Paul Campaign. Before the Republican National Convention in 2008, in fact, even before the close of the Washington State Convention, leaders of the 2008 grassroots campaign began preparing to win in 2012,  but we couldn’t overcome the national “Professionals” or their local proxies.

For four years the national “Professionals”  would create, then control The “Compromise for Liberty.” Then the 2012 presidential “Campaign” not only ignored the organization necessary for a successful Paul campaign, but actively prevented it, by  instead laboring to turn Paul’s supporters into a cash cow. That this was, to them, more important than a Paul victory is no longer debatable. I will tell that story. It is, in fact, still unfolding to the ultimate detriment of the movement spawned by Paul. There are some scenes in your life that are so significant you can never forget them. And there is no common vocabulary to describe them. Words like “epiphany” and “allegorical” fall short even after the dictionary has been dragged out.

I went to a meeting early in 2008 to discuss “the future of the Ron Paul Movement” in an upscale South King County subdivision. Only four people showed up, but “as it happened” we (supernaturally?) represented four of five tributaries of the phenomenon, the R3VOLUTION that had unexpectedly exploded across America that year, re-igniting the grassroots nationwide and spawning “money bombs.”

The only one behaving like a real Republican is Ron Paul, who actually wants to cut spending and

get government out of our lives. He won’t win the nomination because too many Republicans are into handouts and redistribution, just like democrats.”

I didn’t even finish watching the show, it was just “on” in the room.

It was the premise that was compelling. An under-aged teen girl had choked to death on her own vomit. Her similarly under-aged friends were being pursued for homicide simply because they let it happen. The girl is the nation. Her friends are the Republican Party. You are the judge.

Or perhaps, the girl’s father.
