twin towersIn the years since 9/11, we have often heard it described as the day that America lost her innocence.  It was the day that we were violated on our own soil, the day that we were made to face the reality that there are those in this world who want us dead simply because we are American.

The truth is that we are no longer innocent; instead, we are simply, truly, willfully ignorant.

How to Commemorate 911

The seriousness of what I am about to say cannot be over emphasized. The commemoration of the tragedy of 911 is akin to an American “Good Friday.” It may be “good,” good times and good politics,  but don’t forget it is also like a time for mourning.

This emerging national political holiday is a time to gather with family and friends. It is a time to remember. And never forget. It is not because we want to commemorate the hijackers, but rather the evil they accomplished and how it changed everything. But while we’re at it, it is a wonderful time for Midstream women to demonstrate their organizational and social skills to accomplish our political goals. (more…)
